Very nice.

Technical question I've always wondered about---why are the gun barrels occasionally all black (or otherwise darkly colored)? Was that a replacement weapon?

EDIT: Historically, I mean.

Yes. Replacement barrels were undercoated in a dark grey, not red oxide like tanks.

That's what I really like about your stuff ,is that you look for things often simple ideas like the dark grey gun barrel which become talking points.

Cheers... Though to be fair, Yekke inspired me to do the replacement barrel and Fred (Hincmar) discussed the colouration with me...

Like so much of my work the inspiration, at least in part, comes from other Guilders. Its what makes this such a vibrant forum.

Neat, thanks for the info.

I'll be painting some 15mm Panthers for my uncle for Christmas, and I think I'll do up one of them with a dark grey barrel.
