Battlegroup Pacific???

Battlegroup Pacific???

Postby Ilkahn » 21 Feb 2017

I have a question beings as our hobby shop in memphis was approached by a teacher asking about using BA as a teaching tool for her students (high school). We threw her a test game so she could see the mechanics, which she liked. We asked about European theater to which she wasn't receptive due to teaching specifically pacific history studies at their school (private i think).

At any rate, the cost of the 20mm models would be less a burdan to their parents or her (one of her many concerns).

Long and short of this....

You guys have any plans for the Pacific theater?

Yes. Already in early testing.

Fantastic!

I see that it's going to be called "Battlegroup Iwo Jima." Would it be possible to get a brief idea on what periods will be covered (ex: '41 - '45) and what areas of operation? (I understand it's still a Work in Progress, or as we bean-counters would say in bean-countereese, "WIP", and you might not be able to divulge any juicy tidbits!)

And thanks in advance for all the hard work on these projects.

Not really, very early days, just a few ideas really and some people playing a few games. It'll be the later Pacific war I think, so the end... and Piers will want Burma too... and could be years off.

There are a ton of books across the entire war - the trick is navigating the minefield to find the books that will sell enough to pay for the next one!

Work is progressing, much reading on the Japanese army, and its many odd ways... the Pacific war is beginning, but again, some way off yet.
