Dien Bien Phu French?

Dien Bien Phu French?

Postby braxen » 08 Apr 2017

I am planning ahead a project and was wondering if there are any recommendation for painting French (DBP)?

I am interested in the "new" camouflaged and the OD patterns.

That would light green/dark green/red brown for one and olive green for the other. But I'd rather use colours that really work well rather than generic ones.

Has anyone suggestions for Vallejo paints?

thank you

Hopefully these links might help:

They also wore a lot of WW2 US uniforms including Marine types (so called duck hunter spotted camo) as well some temperate, plenty of websites have guides on painting standard US uniforms, bear in mind that in the field lighter clothing would be more practical such as HBT utilities.
Here is a couple to help with colours:

My advice, research the unit first before deciding on how to progress and bear in mind the mixture of clothing and quickly it would look faded and worn so a variety of green tones (with lightened base colour and buff highlights) can work too, showing new and old issue. :hello:

EDIT!!!!!
Almost forgot! Matt's excellent guide plus a cracking range!
