female WW1 tank seems resonable -
but giving a tank or an aircraft a girls name isn't really in the spirit of the theme though is it?

Isn´t a cat female in English? You´d give a lot of mates a better chance if you stretch it to big cats...

no mate, a cat is a cat... its neither male or female unless you are talking about a specific cat.
unlike French (le and la) and German (die and das - actually i bet i got that wrong) in english you just have "the cat"
we don't allocate a gender to things like you chaps....

yes i know that ....   ok, maybe bad example... ok - try this - a table, "the" table - in english it is neutral, it has no gender - in french it does - it becomes "la" table (female) and in German "die" tabelle (again female)
