Légionnaires With Wings:
The Kepi Blanc at Loung Phai Pass
This Scenario is made for use with
“La guerre aérienne en Indochine”
The Airborne War in Indochina by George Callinan

SETTING
Date: October, 14th 1949: 0600 Hours
Location: Loung Phai Pass – “High Region” - Tonkin
Background: (4-6 Players)

The 1st Bataillon Etrangers de Parachutistes (BEP) jumped near Loung Phai Pass, on LA ROUTE COLONIALE NO. 4 after the Viet Minh ambushed a Spahi unit on the 13th of October. There was a Radio silence from the Legion Garrison near the Loung Phai post. After a blind jump over appalling DZ among wooded cliffs, the 1st BEP found the burnt out trucks and dead of the previous ambush; however the Loung Phai garrison was found to still be holding out. There is one problem however, les viets know you have arrived and want to destroy your force of “international thugs.”
Can you hold out against the attacking Viet Minh and take some of the pressure off the Legion post?

SCENARIO RULES
1. Game Length: Variable (8) then random Game Length. The Rules used in this Scenario are La guerre aérienne en Indochine (LGAI). © 2007

2. Viet Minh Units are recyclable and all must be destroyed for them to be used again. They have the initiative the first turn.

3. Table is 6 feet by 4 feet. The terrain is jungle. Figures can see 4 inches. At 8 inches away a figure can make a roll on his E! to see if the figures can be sighted.

4. Players can make templates that represent "open" in the jungle canopy.

SCENARIO OPTIONS
After turn 8 it reverts to a random game length when a d10 is rolled.

Turn 8 - Roll of a 10 = Game Over
Turn 9 - Roll of a 9 & 10 = Game Over
Turn 10 – Roll of a 8, 9, & 10 = Game Over
Turn 11 – Roll of a 7, 8, 9, & 10 = Game Over
Turn 12 –Roll of a 6, 7, 8, 9, & 10 = Game Over
Turn 13 - Roll of a 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, & 10 = Game Over

The above-mentioned twelve recommendations
Are feasible to all.
He who loves his country,
Will never forget them.
When the people have a habit,
All are like one man,
With good army men and good people,
Everything will be crowned with success.
Only when the root is firm, can the tree live long,
And victory is built with the people as foundations.
Viet Minh Poem

If anyone tries this scenario just tell me who wins as the French have won every time as the Viets cannot seem to wipe them out and they have chance after chance.
